I studied Japanese for a year back in middle school when I was briefly stricken by weeaboo tendencies. Then I moved onto Indo-European languages.

On the subject of weaboos, I would have died to learn Japanese when I was one. It just happens that I'm taking up the language now to fill in some humanities credits.
That's not saying I don't like some aspects of Japanese culture, though. Else I'd probably take art or something, but that would be too easy.
I like to take on a challenge sometimes.

I read that as "I would have died to learn Japanese when I was one [year old]."

Yeah, so did I.
I think Japanese is an interesting language, and I wouldn't mind studying it in that regard. But I really don't like what I've heard about the culture and don't think I'd enjoy living there at all, so I'll pass.

I read that as "I would have died to learn Japanese when I was one [year old]." I could hardly speak English when I was one years old. haha That being said, it'd be pretty weird learning Japanese at that age, given none of my parents speak Japanese.

So besides English:
1) Tagalog (Fully Fluent in speaking... not in reading. Takes me a good minute to read certain things) 2) Japanese (Good enough to translate and subtitle crap on Youtube)
The thing about speaking Japanese I find a little irritating (don't get me wrong, I understand how it works) is that you need to know your social position at ALL TIMES when speaking.
In Video Games (especially Tales) and anime, the language is drastically stylistically different from the social norm.
I DARE you to say "Anata" to a random person on the street there.

It is listed by the Department of Defense as the most difficult language for a native English speaker to learn, after all.
Part of me wants to learn a non-Indo-European language sometime. I at least broke away from the Romance languages with Greek, but being that it's Indo-European, the grammar system is just more of the same. Arabic would be interesting, but I honestly don't know where in the Middle East I would be able to live as a single female. Maybe UAE, idk.

Speaking of the Middle East, I hear that bad things can happen to men with long hair in Saudi Arabia.
Staying away from there.

Surprisingly, sex change operations are legal in Saudi Arabia.

Not sure about the long hair, but I've heard things about not having a beard, that's why my uncle grew a beard and moustache before he worked there as an engineer. I still only know English and Tagalog (Filipino), but I would love to learn Spanish and Russian. Arabic sounds really cool too, I love both Russian and Arabic writing

I don't know much about Arabic's grammar system, but Russian's grammar system rivals that of Latin's in complexity. I wouldn't consider it an easy language to study.
Gah, I wish people still spoke Latin. If there was a colony of Neo-Latin speakers, I'd move there.

So far...I only know Tagalog (Fluent) before(Philippine Language), but then when I went to a Private Chinese School (Chinese Mother wants me to study there for Chinese and other subjects), I got VERY fluent in English that everyone I talk to gets a nosebleed (that includes my teachers and professors in college) and can speak mid-fluent in Chinese (Fukien), but the switch...Unable to understand my country's language properly now xD XD XD. Speak a bit of Japanese, a bit of Sweden Accent, and a bit of French due to my cousins going to France and talking to me in a Frenchy way xD

I lied. To hell with Arabic next; I want to learn Old English. That's my next goal. There is a complete paucity of appreciation for Old English, and that needs to change.
