Which character do you control the most during battles?
I almost always use Presea, but sometimes Colette or Sheena, or maybe Genis.

Posted this at another forum...
*Copy/Paste*
1) Zelos/Kratos (Preferably, Kratos because of Judgement, but I like 'em both) *Swordsmanship + Magic = Good fighting strategies for me. He's the most easiet and comfortable for me, and has decent speed and good magic casting (If you equip him with Jet boots and Mystic Symbol, that is. ). Also, FIRST AID!
2) Regal *His combos are crazy, is fairly fast at them and is pretty strong. His healer moves are useful too in colessium. I prefer Grand Healer seeing that Chi Healer is a waste of tech... First aid is better.
3) Lloyd *Ah yes, the fearless whack and slasher. Of course I use him because he's a combo demon, but dosen't know no magic. ;_;
4) Presea *Intresting combos, with a strong set of techs. A perfectly good brawler if ya ask me.
5) Sheena *Meh, she seems a bit too repetitive for me. But she's still a blast to use, espicially with Summon Spirits.
6) Genis *He's good with his magic... But All magic and no attack techs make me a bad player to be.
7) Colette *I find her difficult, that's it.
8) Raine *Refer to Genis' statement
I stay with this cause I haven't played the game in a LONG while. >_>

Anyone who can spell cancel. Well, I mostly play as Colette and Presea.

Here they are: 1. Regal - Underappreciated, but with proper AD skills, he can keep up with lloyd when it comes to fighting. Not only that, he's nearly a match of Lloyds on preventing the enemy to attack thru temporary stun. His healing is ok at best, but what makes Regal really good is his ability to attack from odd angles. His sweeping low attack is the best low attack in the game due to its distance priority and he can attack then enemy directly from above, which is a good way to break defense and add in to combo if timed right. He's especially good against flying enemies, with his aerial skills nearly as good as Lloyd's tempest skills due to his ability to combo from air wih the proper AD skills and his linkable techs from air. 2. Lloyd - He's overpowered and high-hitting. But I need him in most cases like boss fights and racking the combos. 3. Zelos/Kratos - They're versatility makes them cool customers to be put in any situation. Magic and melle attacks, not the most powerful but the beauty of it is the fact that they can do both. 4. Presea - She's a tank despite her small frame, and she can give out big damage w/ that axe of hers. Her konckback and stun makes her a good complementary melee fighter 5. Colette - She can be a spellcaster and a mid-range fighter but she doesn't seem to excel in either one. Her Holy song is a nice buff and the hammer techs can be potentially deadly if used right. 6. Genis - I use him to do those special AD skills but he's primarily used as support due to his awesomely powerful spells 7. Raine - Barely used. I keep her as a healer at the back and that's that

Yeh that's why I use Regal too, Let's see here... If I can remember my combo... I think it was Crescent Dark Moon, Triple Rage Kick ended with a Wolverine. I also think that's the highest amount of hits you can do with him as well. I also mix those up with Spin Kick or a Triple Kick ender to replace Wolverine (If I don't want the Crescent Moon in the end) and well yeah. The only reason why I prefer Zelos & Kratos though it's because of Magic and Magic + Melee= Awesome strategies for me.
Though if Regal knew any magic, my opinion could actually change.... But he doesn't. =P
By the way, suky you forgot to add Sheena on your list, unless she's so bad that you don't use her at all. XP

I use Colette and Sheena most, followed by Zelos or Kratos depending on where I'm at in the story /who I spoke with in Flanoir. I use Sheena the most- she's got high attack. Her defense lacks a bit, but she's also quick and can string together a combo quickly. Plus, she can spell cancel, and even though her spell cancelling combo isn't infinite like Colette's is, she's still done spell cancelling and into the next combo before the enemy's done staggering. Also, she goes into Overlimit more than any other character, and Overlimit's great whether I feel like summoning something or not (usually not, I'm too preoccupied with pummeling the enemy with spell cards to summon). Also, her seals come in handy (except Purgatory Seal, which is generally useless...). Power Seal for even more damage, Force Seal for more stagger time, and Life Seal for a little bit of HP recovery, which is always helpful in the arena. And, of course, Pyre Seal, which knocks the enemy over. Colette is difficult to use, but in the hands of someone who has figured her out, she's deadly. Her Pikohan techs, despite having a relatively small range, can do a lot of damage, and if Pikohan has at least 200 uses and a green hammer comes flying out, monsters die. Period. If you take her down the T side, her Ray Thrust techs can hit from any distance for decent damage. If you take her down the S side, her tech Para Ball is awesome for its TP cost. Also, if you're good at spell cancelling, Colette's spell cancel combo can be infinite and you can keep it going for extended lengths of time without getting counterattacked.

Though my bro is better with Sheena, She's supposedly #5 for me (w/ Colette as 6th). Sheena is quick and can make the enemy weak the way you want the enemy to be w/ all sorts of card seal techniques she has. Her summons are powerful, but a little hard to exploit, but if you got to use the summons it'lll have the battle go more your way

Lloyd, mainly, because he's the easiest to play as and he can rack up combos like nobody's business.
But, this playthrough, I've resolved myself to play only as Kratos (While he's in the party, that is). It's also Mania mode, so I keep having to cast First Aid. Stop dying, Lloyd!
Playing as Raine is amusing in it's own rights.

I usually play as Colette or Kratos. I need a combination of Brawling abilities and spell casting, and Colette and Kratos both offer this.

Presea like... 85% of the time. The other 15% is everybody else. But for some reason I don't ever control Regal. He's in my party sometimes, but I have trouble controlling him. O__o

Second playthrough now (Actually, it's the PS2 version XD), and so far, I'm all Kratos

Playing as Kratos entirely is hard during the boss battles in Mania mode. I want to attack, but I need to heal Lloyd and Genis (And Colette, for battles at the seals, ugh), because they keep rushing in and attacking. Ugh.
