If you don't mind that they block all the ports, then yeah, I guess.

You pretty much nailed it about the semester system. We have 4 classes in one semester and have two semesters in a year. I'm pretty sure that I'll be fine after freshman year because I'll only take Spanish 5 and Latin 3 and AP Latin in 10th grade. I'm pretty sure the guidance counselor won't fight me on that because it's recommended to take foreign languages without breaks and AP classes ALWAYS are in the second semester have preparation preparation courses in the first semester at my school. That means I can't take Latin 3 without AP Latin Vergil I wish my school was like that. Instead, we have a highly inefficient system where it takes us double the time to do what you guys do due to how many classes we have to take. I'm no education specialist, but it makes more sense to me to learn everything you need to know quickly and in more intense sessions than spread out over years. I found this to be particularly true in the study of languages. I taught myself Latin over the summer (more like last few weeks of August because I procrastinated so much, ha ha ha...) so I could skip a level. I learned more and retained more from teaching myself at the pace I wanted than my school's stupid 3 times a week class schedule. How does a school expect people to learn and remember a language when they hardly have the opportunity to practice it regularly? And Jesus Christ, have I ever deviated from the original topic. Way2go, me.

The internet is fine over here at the community college I go to (but if too many people log into their student e-mails, it slows down a bit, funny how it works)....but when I was still going to the expensive art college, damn was it slow as hell! If you saved any of your work on your desk top, you get in trouble cause it slows everyone else down then the network crashes. Happened a few times and the tech guys were super pissed and a lot people lost their work cause they saved it to the desk top.
I love the field trips though. I got to go to Seattle, WA and Cannon Beach in OR for free and they always had free food and events/parties going on. That's something that I love about college! <3

Ugh...College essays. Not only do I hate talking about myself, but putting it into essay form? Fffft I've already procrastinated on this crap and now I'm writing as fast as I can. My dad pretty much chewed me out for having an essay he didn't like (though my English teacher thought it was good...) so I have to add rewriting my main essay to the 8 or so supplemental essays too...-_-;;
The writing doesn't take long, but organizing my thoughts in a way that I can present them is hard...since I don't exactly like myself all that much and I feel as if half of my high school career has been one big disappointment...>_>;;

NO!!! Maybe only in your case...Yes relationships can be distracting but it's fun and as long as you don't forget about why you're in school, too, then it should be fine. Besides, everyone is an adult there and it's their fault if that's all they care about since they're wasting thousands of dollars/or whatever currency you're using.

I say no because 70% of my friends happen to be guys...though mostly because I just can't get into any comfortable conversation with most girls my age. If the genders were to be separated, I'd be very lonely. D:
Relationships do sound like a pain in the neck though in terms of interfering with studies...then again, it is the fault of the student for not focusing on his/her studies anyways, as stated before me.

It depends on the person if they want to pursue a relationship or just be a normal student. :3

I go to an all-girls high school now, and you couldn't pay me to continue my studies in a single-sex institution for college. I'm not sure how it is for guys, but when girls are cooped up together for four years, massive female doginess and cattiness occurs. I function okay in an all-girls school, but if I were allowed to go back to when I first decided what new school to go to, I'd choose a co-ed school instead. I can't wait for more testosterone in my life Not because I'm interested in dating (I'm not) but because I've always gotten along better with guys.

Polonius, this late, but I think the semester system has fault in math courses. I took geometry in eighth grade for the whole year, and that was really difficult! I like the semester for foreign languages, though. Foreign languages move at good paces; I'm never bored during those classes.
To be honest, I don't think boys and girls should be separated. Obviously, I want to be housed in a fully male residence hall. However, I would NOT want to have my classes split into male and female sides. That just seems so creepy. I want to meet girls in college, Especially since a lot of boys in my high school classes annoy me.
SAT scores came out for my November testing. I got 1280/1600, which qualifies me for everything I want for summer school, so I have plenty of choices now. More specifically (the percents at the right are national percentiles):
Critical Reading:640/800 88% Math: 640/800 83% Writing: 670/800 93%
Funny part is that in all my practice tests, I kept getting just below 600 in math and reading. I guess I got a windfall there. Honestly, though, I can't imagine taking this test in 11th/12th grade and scoring higher, except for in maybe math. I probably will be able to increase my 9/12 essay, but it seems so tedious.
By the way, random question. Has anyone here actually applied to and won a scholarship? I keep reading these college readiness books that stress the importance of winning scholarships, yet there's nothing that looks winnable.
