No, that's the Cheap-est tactic of them all, but only counting on summons is pretty cheap too. XD
You'll never become a good player if you're just a one-trick pony.

The computer's never going to learn anything though, so do what you need to to win. If you were fighting against a person however...

That's a pretty cheap tactic, and cooking does the same whilst being far safer and faster, allowing you to decimate the monsters quickly and still gain tension and experience. no. cheep tactic is the one thats been savving my but in ever one on one fight in tales games. the Domon Fang/fist/ azure blast and dodge tactic. Hehe, how does that tactic work exactly?? Just.. using a Demon Fang-like attack, and then dodging, and basically just spamming the weakest attack in the game?? You'll drain your TP in no time and do like no damage, right?? That's not how you meant it, is it? ^____^;

How would it help if you lose all the time?
Again, since it's a computer there are no footsies, but never rush in mindlessly.

Oh, I think that's the most fun about fighting in games: using the various movements of a characters moveset to dodge or avoid your opponents moves, using the various properties of your special moves to do things you couldn't normally do, using feints to draw out unsafe options from your opponent, utilizing the fighting system itself to put yourself into an advantageous position.
All of that is so fascinating to me.
