Every couple minutes, a post about how much Namco sucks and how they should localize Tales games? That'd get me to shaft the series more if I was in charge. I know, right? Apparently the Tales fanbase has forgotten the saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar." Apparently they've forgotten that Namco doesn't OWE them any games at all, it didn't get the support to justify it, so it didn't come. End of story.

It's almost as if Tales fans don't regularly buy Tales games when they get localized, making them unprofitable in the Western market!

I sure understand your point but what about those who can't find the games they want? there is also the price issue....when the games makes it's way beyond seas the prices could be doubled or even more....it's not the compony's fault but it can't be helped

^ I understand both points presented. *nods*
But, honestly, I kind of don't really want to see an English Version. Not that I'm saying it shouldn't be localized and dubbed!
Namikawa just did such a great, beautifully, magnificent job as Richard and I fear how his voice would be in the English dub. Sorry for sounding selfish! >.<

Actually, the Japanese voice acting is much better than the English. But I want them to localize and translate the game without dubbing it. That way fans will be happy, and Namco won't lose so much money.

]Actually, the Japanese voice acting is much better than the English. This is a pretty broad generalization... I think English dubbing got a bad rap in the 80s and 90s when it really did suck, and the reputation stuck even though English voice acting is pretty decent now. Too bad, since now you get people who immediately jump to the conclusion that the English dub is always inferior. I don't understand why people harp about Tales games' voice acting. The dubbing isn't that bad--in fact, it's pretty decent compared to a lot of other games. What is there to be unhappy about?

Eh, well. I think English dub gets better and better. Vesperia is an example of that.
...But, this is just my Namikawa-bias speaking mostly.

I was talking about Tales having Japanese voice acting better than English, I didn't mean English dubbing was bad or anything. I like the dubbing in Tales series, and I also like the voice actors they choose. But what I don't like is having Skits, side quests or half of the game unvoiced. If Namco can full dub a game in English then I'll be happier than having it in Japanese.

Apparently they've forgotten that Namco doesn't OWE them any games at all, it didn't get the support to justify it, so it didn't come. End of story. THISSS Tales of Graces for Wii sold really poorly. Why would they localize a game that did badly? That's just bad marketing. Look on the bright side. Earlier Tales aside, at least when Tales games do get localized, they do a pretty darn good job even if there is some voice acting missing. Unlike the piece of $#!% localization we got with Final Fantasy XIII*. And I don't think I have ever wanted to choke a translator more than when I played Valkyria Chronicles.* * I played both these games with Japanese audio and English subtitles so I was able to make a direct comparison. Let me just say the translations in both are... unacceptable. As a translator your job is to translate and "localize" whatever's necessary, not to LOLREWRITE all the dialogue. "Rainbows and smiles"? Really? /rant I think we should wait until Tales of Graces f's been out a few months before writing it off. If it sells really well on the PS3 in Japan, Namdai may consider localizing it. Maybe they simply don't intend to make the same mistake they did with Vesperia. We'll see.
