I was waiting all game for his balls to drop... I'll be honest, though. DotNW had a very satisfying ending... probably more satisfying than any other game I've played. Emil killing himself? Yes, please. Wooooow....You seriously hate him, don't you? EVERYONE ON GUILTY CROWN Except for Shuu, Gai, Kenji and that one little girl...and sort of Daryl.

Can't say I've ever properly hated any character though there are certain characters where I either disagreed with where their development went, didn't particularly like the character archetype they were written to embody or just plain wished for some kind of development at all.
Cheria was previously mentioned in this thread... I felt a lot of frustration with her character after her anger with Asbel was resolved so easily fairly early in the storyline. I felt that it would have done wonders to keep her existence in the party more relevant and the romance less awkwardly presented because, I'll be honest, I have the hardest time accepting characters when most of their lines relate to pining over their love interest. It wasn't even her character mirroring all of the feminine stereotypes that set me over this time (which surprises me). I feel like the writers really could have expanded Cheria a lot more if they allowed her to really voice her insecurities with how Asbel just ditched her seven years ago and have her slowly work back up to fully trusting him and falling in love again instead of immediately jumping back to "completely infatuated".
Other characters I have a hard time deciding whether I loved their development or not include Luke and Tear. I loved Luke's development but there was a certain point where I felt that the writers had him fall a bit too far after establishing once more the respect/faith his companions had in him. His climb back up after his fall into "no self worth" was fine though. Tear -- I loved her for most of the game because she was smart, straightforward and made her point very clear, but I felt that near the end she just became some sort of extension of Luke. Don't get me wrong, a good level of dependency is wonderful in a relationship, but I felt more could have been done to give Tear her own conflicts late game...like a liiiiitle more focus on Van being her own damn brother.
Sodia from Vesperia...Ahahaha, though it's more like I'm confused as to why the hell she wasn't held accountable for the whole Zaude incident despite it being addressed anyways. I understand that she's willing to do anything for Flynn but what she did is a bit...much.
Overall -- I just get really frustrated at characters but I can't really qualify any of it as hate.

Wow, Miken. I'm sorry, but you can't change my hate for Sodia or Cheria; They're annoying as f*ck to me.

I can't really "hate" Sodia. I don't think she stabbed Yuri because she was upset about Flynn as much as much as she was the victim of an extremely poorly thought-out plot that needed a plot twist.

Mikazuki Yozora from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
Why? She's a b***h--a complete manipulative b***h. Oh, no worries about her taking offense at being called such. She's completely aware of what a manipulative b***h she is and she's not going to change. I have never had a character whom I disliked-- hated so much. Everything about her just bothers me: her voice, her attitude, her personality, actions, the way she exploits peoples weaknesses, etc. Not to mention she's obnoxious. She's perhaps one of the MAJOR reasons I did not enjoy watching this anime.
1 - picking on Sena's insecurities and forcing to say or do embarrassing things until she runs away and crying is NOT funny. 2 - exploiting a 10-years old little girl into giving her a room for her dumb club is NOT amusing either. (although I can let this slide a bit because the little girl IS a brat and wouldn't listen to reasons... a slap or two to the face isn't really that bad..) 3 - also, manipulating and toying with a boy who has insecurities about his feminine appearance into parading around in feminine clothes isn't amusing either. It doesn't help that this boy is unrealistically naive. 4 - and supposedly its all supposed to be done in "good intention" and "justified".
She's just that bad but its fine cause this anime is terrible in itself. This whole anime is just one big TVtrope-fest that takes things Up-the-Eleven and Flanderizes .Every .Single .Character .Trope. "I Don't Have Many Friends"? Geez, I wonder why.
The only character that was appealing in this show is Kobato...

Eren Jeager from Attack on Titan. He comes off as whiny when you meet him and he's just...all anger. I dunno. I just don't like him.

There are a lot of characters I hate, I'm a jerk! I always hate the "I'm so perfect there's nothing wrong with me" people. (Kirito from SaO drive me crazy ARG!) But there are also characters I love to hate. Nico form love live makes me so mad. However, she is fun to hate and I feel like I'm supposed to hate her. I actually love her because of how I hate her haha! I also hate Panda from Polar bear cafe. I don't care how cute you are, you are so lazy! I hate how he treats his hard working mother! Now when ever I see pandas I get annoyed! XD As far as tales goes, I hate Asbel more than anyone

Just like Hydric I really dislike characters who are without flaws and are the "chosen ones" unless, you know, it somehow fits their background because Colette from ToS was someone I didn't hate at all? I really admired her character. Anyway, I don't know....
The only protagonists I disliked most in Tales games were Emil and Marta. :/

You don't have to worry about bumping old threads. Any activity is welcome at this point. I totally agree with you though. Kirito is too bad to be put among my garbage. Down the toilet I'd say (No offence to the possible kirito fangirls, just my personal opinion :3)

Kirito is so terribly written that he stands out as such even among other shounen protagonists. He's impressively bad.

It worries me cuz since SAO is so damn popular I'm afraid other devs will follow suit.
I can't stand most comic relief characters. Buds like Teepo and Black Star from Soul Eater. It can be done well but the contrast they provide is really jarring to me.

Well recently a lot of comic relief characters just rely on lame Anime tropes and turn out to be more cringe worthy than funny, the last time I laughed at an Anime was probably this scene from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
