So what's going down on Election Day Nov. 6? Who did you vote for or who will you vote for in the presidential election? If you're not a voter or you're outside the US, who do you think should be elected?
I'm going to be a traitor to the Republican party I'm registered in and vote for the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. I know he's not going to win, but I got to be that five percent.

I'm probably not going to vote at all.
I'm not happy with either of the two main candidates, and my vote doesn't even mean anything if I vote for somebody else because of our stupid two-party system. Then again, it's not like my vote matters anyway... all that matters is the take-all electoral system.
If I had to choose, I would vote for Romney, I guess. I'm pretty unhappy with the Republicans, though. Republicans harp about "big government," but they're all for it when it comes to legislating people's personal lives...

You know what's funny is the stuff that's said about no-voters. "Oh, you didn't vote? You're no patriot." In actuality, people have the choice not to vote and a no-vote in itself can be a form of protest toward the Pepsi vs Coke election system that we have kept going for so long.
What I think really is unpatriotic is to vote for someone without a conscience. To say "Oh I think such-and-such will make a good president" without actually researching the candidates policies and beliefs.
And if you decide to vote for the lesser of two evils, doesn't that still mean you voted for an evil person? Wouldn't the good thing be to answer "none of the above"?
There's also another good thing about not voting. When the president screws up and does something nobody likes, at least you can say "Well I didn't vote him in."

Yeah, I think it's way worse to vote just because. People who vote solely based on party lines really bother me. Political orientation is a spectrum, so for all they know, they might be voting in someone they would actually hate. Talk about counterproductive and stupid... I would never vote for Mike Huckabee, but I like John McCain (well, I did before he started pandering in vain to the social conservatives). They're both billed as Republicans, but they're totally different.
My parents hassle me every day about my decision to abstain from voting. They consider it my "civic duty," but I contend I'm performing just the opposite if I vote for someone I don't think will lead the country in the right direction.

I won't be able to vote, but even if I'm allowed to, I won't vote anyway. I see what each candidate is all about, both good and bad, but they're not my ideal candidates. I've come to notice that I will only vote for someone who has martial arts credentials. Seems silly to vote for this reason, until I've realized that some of the greatest leaders in the world that I really liked, both modern and historical, are martial artists. Vladimir Putin? Judo black belt. Theodore Roosevelt? Judo brown belt Abraham Lincoln? State champion wrestler (and catch wrestler) I'm more likely to trust someone who's like-minded after all

True, you get more shιt done when you've got a dictator in control, but then you also get people like Pol Pot. Just sayin'.
Why don't you like democracy, if you don't mind my asking?

Why so? I'm curious.
Hm, I don't know, I'm thinking maybe I'll go vote. I can see a point in voting for state ballot measures.
Presidential election, eh, whatever. Obama will win Connecticut anyway.

The emperor of Japan and the queen of England are just figureheads. They don't actually play any role in the government anymore.
And no, I wouldn't say UAE or Kuwait necessarily live better than other countries. The UAE and Kuwait largely enjoy the high quality of life they do because they're fortunate enough to have plentiful access to the most valuable (for now) natural resource in the world.

Well looks like our same-sex marriage bill is passing, although I'm surprised at how many people voted against it, especially considering how terrible the counter arguments for it where...

The emperor of Japan never really did anything until emperor Meiji. They're supposed to be gods and matters are generally thought to be beneath them.
