For those of you who have played/are playing this Tales game, what are your thoughts on Power-Leveling up to level 50 and having Weapon/Armor shop be level 80 before getting the 4th character? Do you think it takes away the fun of the game?

I for one love power leveling and smashing a game at it's own... Well game. While I understand that people love a challenge (I do as well) it's also very fun to have a feeling of power. For example, bringing over all of your artes and maxed Fell Arms in Vesperia is great because you don't have to grind for them again.
I also like seeing level 200 (or whatever the max level is) on my characters.

Personally I hate powerleveling, I feel like it's boring to do and it makes the rest of the game boring from lack of challenge. It takes away all the fun out of the battle system by removing the strategy since all you have to do is mash buttons to power your way through and most boss will not be able to KO any of your characters save maybe with their Hi-Ougi/mytic arte.

Two different sides of the spectrum. Aoki, knowing that you are a Fire Emblem fan, it doesn't surprise me on your opinion

To be honest, I would hate to level-grind in order to power-level. Level grinding annoys me to no end I'm much more of a completionist, but I'm really too busy (or lazy) to actually go for 100% completion on a game.

I don't like power-leveling, but I end up probably being a couple of levels higher than average for a boss fight or level since I enjoy fighting the random enemies. Ideally, I want to fight bosses on the lowest levels possible, but I'm not that great a player to pull that off easily. I love doing combos, but it's difficult for me to be precise with my inputs (thanks to my hyper, jittery worked up self when in battles), throwing off my timing on that hundred+ hit combo

power leveling has always been one of my favorite parts of JRPGs. i always loved the way Tales of, or Final Fantasy actually gives you an active choice as to how powerful your characters will be at any point in the storyline. in many western RPGs, like Dragon Age, the player supposively has all this freedom to choose different options in different playthroughs (and to make different choices than other players might)... but what about the freedom to either rush ahead for an extra challenge, or to grind until you're overpowered? this is the kind of freedom of choice you only get in JRPGs, and i think it adds strategic depth rather than takes it away. grinding is almost always optional. it makes the character improvement systems far more personal, meaningful, and rewarding, and its a very organic and elegant way to give players control over the difficulty level.
