At Abyssal Chronicles Forums, we strive to make the forum a home for intelligent and respectful discussion of the Tales series and general topics.
In order to accomplish that there are simple rules that must be followed.
I: Spamming
------------
In regards to AC spamming constitutes a repetitive usage of the same word or phrase within a post or topic. For example:
"Level 200 rising falcon OHKO Abyssion"
"Follow me @ -insert handle-"
Posted multiple times within one post or multiple times within the topic.
Generally, if it does not apply to the topic or carry the discussion further in any meaningful way, it is considered spam.
II: Double Posting
-------------------
No consecutive posting if you're not specifically responding to another user's post. There is an edit tool you can use to correct mistakes or add/subtract from your post.
III: Censorship
----------------
While we are adults, or growing into becoming adults, language can become problematic for certain people. Overall, to make this a "safe" environment for people the usage of "curse words" is prohibited. A wise man once said that "A man curses when he lacks the words to express himself".
IV: Respect
-----------
The Golden Rule. Respect begets respect.
Treat others with the same courtesy you would want in return.
Don't fight fire with fire, etc.
Essentially, if you want someone to take you seriously, you must do the same for that character. Which leads into my next point about debating.
There will be instances where two people disagree with one another. In order to keep debates clean and away from "arguments" (which is when emotion gets involved) I will break down a small guide on how to effectively debate.
1: Opinions are not facts
- If you feel strongly about a certain topic learn to see from the other perspective. You can learn more about the other's reasoning and further strengthen your own deductive ability.
2: Present facts when applicable
- If your argument attempts to prove a statement, provide the numbers, data, and/or quotes.
3: Keep emotions out of the mix
- Just because that person is not high on your list of desirable people does not mean the point they made is invalid. Insult is just a defense mechanism when cornered and a sign of mental weakness.
4: Know when a debate is over
- Yes, you may be able to argue for another few days, but realize when there is no end and be the bigger person. Depending on the situation, you may be able to express your point and end the debate, but in some cases (opinions vs. opinions) know when to bow out. Express your point and move on. Or... simply discuss them.
While it isn't an issue right now, this rule will be strictly enforced if disrespect starts to surface. Take the time to internalize this in order to prevent that from happening.
V: Advertising
----------------
Any business, brand, or whatever you have shall only be advertised in a relevant forum (ie: General).
Linking your Youtube channel on every Tales forum not only breaks the spamming rule, but this rule as well. Relegate it to your signature, a topic in general, or do not bring it up.
In the scenario where someone may mention your brand in a topic, advertising is allowed for that specific discussion. Do not abuse this rule, (As in having your friend constantly bring your product up).
VI: Spoilers
-------------
There are many people who are sensitive to spoilers. Use spoilers tag whenever applicable. In the case of older Tales games this rule is lightly enforced. Still, you're intelligent enough to know when to use spoiler tags on significant or major plot points.
Example:
If you're discussing a plot point for Abyss spoiler tag it
If you're discussing Eggbear in Vesperia, it's not a big deal
Note, if you start a topic and warn of spoilers in the title, you do not have to use spoiler tags. Otherwise, if you join any other topic and intend to add to the discussion, use spoiler tags.

VII: Duplicate Topics
----------------------
Take the time to search before making a topic to assure that two threads covering the same point is avoided.
VIII: Issues
------------
If you have an issue while browsing the forum PM a moderator and your issue will be moved up the chain of command.
IX: Signature Rules
------------
The dimensions limit for signatures is 500x250 pixels. Be mindful of this when making signatures else it'll be removed a couple of days after a warning PM.
Overall, follow the simple rules and have fun. This place is designed to bring positive vibes and give those seeking said vibes a home to relax and talk amongst fellow Tales fans.
