Can anyone discern the lyrics of Tales of Symphonia the Animation's opening song, ALMATERIA. (The Soundtrack only had lyrics for the Ending song, Negai) I think, SV/Elotus, you're pretty good at this. A download of the MP3 (as in, the whole thing, not TV size), will be up in a little while. Wait up. EDIT: Here's the download: www.savefile.com/files/811466

It's a weird language... It sounds like Jap though, but not really. I'll try to decipher them then... :/

Thanks ^^. The only words I could discern from the song were "my desire" and "arumateria (almateria, perhaps)"...

Yeah, and for the site Lyrics section as well ... Thanks a lot SV. Sorry to trouble you with this. I hear from the Official Tales Forum that they also hear the words "Tethe'alla" and "Desian".... but I don't...

Most of it doesn't really sound like japanese, so I don't think it is. I can hear 'Sylvarant', 'Tethe'Alla', and 'Almateria' (I'm not quite sure on that one, but it sounds like it) though.

Yeah, "Almateria" really was there, but they pronounced it in the Japanese way, like "ARUMATERIA" or something.

I believe this song pretty much is a made up language, but it's definitely not japanese (there's a bunch of l's in it and other foreign letter combinations) But I think I was able to get it down fairly well, the person above my post might do a better job, but I'll post the lyrics I got out of it.
Almateria - Kawai Eri
Kregi... safade slehiya tunoleba watumi yufiniya waituno se saifiszaiya faituno se naidizaiya apeyumetumi - ya shejumani siruvarant (Sylvarant) krasa meyu sheina ifil krezu mani putisala krasa seidu fleina shejumani siruvarant prasa feinu sheina ikimasi a sheinu fleina Arumate-ri-ya (Almateria)
Wadi kyufede faisii witoliye watumi yufiniya -s shanti fase omilaya shanti fase somikana apeyumetumi - ya flajimani tesealla (Tethe'alla) plasa meyu neina ifil arumani yurifala prasa leinu fleina flajimani tesealla krasa meinu neina ikimasi a leinu neina Arumate-ri-ya
Wadi safade(r) slehiya ...
shejumani siruvarant krasa fleinu sheina ifil krezu mani pukisala krasa seinu fleina shejumani siruvarant krasa feinu sheina ikimasi a sheinu fleina Arumate-
Flajimani Tesealla Prasa meibu neiba ifil arunami yudifalla krasa leinu fleina flajimani tesealla krasa meinu neina ikimasi a leinu meina Arumate-ri-ya -
The pronunciation is how you would pronounce japanese vowels, like ai being a long i sound, ei being long a, etc. Any letters in parenthesis are soft letters that are a bit hard to hear but are still there
Hope this works for you!

That sounds very close, but I have a few corrections to make. I don't claim to know how to translate this, but I know a couple things. First off, you're right about the words "Tethe'alla" and "Sylvarant" appearing. Those I managed to catch.
The only real corrections I can think of what you transliterated to be "naidizaiya" and "apeyumetumi":
For the first, I can see two possibilities. It sounds like "my desire", but is done in Japanese form of "mai desaiyaa". With that in mind, it could very easily be "nai Desian" (whether that's an M or an N is unclear). I'm guessing it's the former.
For the second of my corrections, I think it's an almost definite. Listen closely to the line "apeyumetumi". It's English. The line is "open your mind to me", without a doubt.
This song strikes me as resembling Russian or Latin, yet some words also seem Japanese. I believe this is a made-up language. I'd have to dig into it further.

I agree with both of eternalaurion's corrections.
Maybe it's a mix of japanese and backwards latin, like the made-up language in Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? Ha ha~...

It's hard to make some of the lines here, I've always thought it was something that sounds like the english before they get to the english areas of the song. Just like My Desire for example.
This does take a while to decipher too, since it's hard to hear the endings of some phrases. I'm guess I'm having some debations over Sylvarant and Tethe'alla actually being in the song.. But that's just me. ^_^;
*smacked by Abby's mystical piko han* D: I'll get to it soon, I have to get on other things too so yeah... ^_^;

'Tesealla' is 'Tethe'alla', easily enough, ha ha~.
Hm, I don't have anything else to add. I'm so worthless. Just call me Hiro the Worthless~.
