If they did localized I personaly think it should be on psp. Most People here wont play ps2 games with 2 graphics anymore.

I WILL.
And anyone who plays NIS games will!
I'm totally against a PSP version, because I hate the PSP.

ive played and use to own this game,i know people may like obliterate me with Dhaos laser or something for this but i honestly find ToR to be one of my all time favorite tales games and ive been playing Tales since the Dawn of ToD PSX,i found ToR had an amazing battle system and unique in the Tales series, the games music was just amazing(Battle Organization anyone??) i loved the character designs(Veigue anyone??) and the games art design in general, each character had there own unique style of play and the Tech's were amazing, Hi-ougi's were nice and fun, some a bit on the down side but i looked past that, as for story well i dont know to much about that because i dont know japanese but throught the game i can kinda see whats going on a bit,the one-on-one battles against Milhaust were just epic! same with the battle against the 4 stars, that being my favorite fight in the game especially since one of the 4 stars looks simiar to leon from ToD xDD
anyway thats enough of my ranting but all in all i dont see why people dont like this game,i can say that this is one tales that ill love forever and probably is my all time favorite one in the entire series excluding Destiny. i highly recommend giving it a go and ill probably end up importing it again for my ps2 soon enough.....i think you will all reconsider your "hatred" for this game after playing it well enough, also id like to note that Veigue's Voice i think is the same guy who does Link's in OOT(adult)

Disliked huh? well i like it so far i like Veigue's design generic and simple the battle system is very unique with the "Force" and "Smash Points" the story is also good and simple getting Huma and Guma(was it?) to coexist together and...PEACH PIE.

Tales of Rebirth is one of the greatest Tales games ever to be honest. If Tales games were categorized into tiers, ToR and ToDR would be God Tier Tales games. The Force Cube system, Rush Gauge System, Enhance, just about almost everything is pretty damn unique and godly.
There isn't really a clear reason as to why it was overlooked. The story isn't terrible and it's pretty tolerable. The Character Interactions are pretty hilarious and amusing. The battle system was by no means a turn off and anyone who thinks it is deserves to be shot unless they personally played hours of it.
So yeah. I really don't know. My ONLY explanation is that ToR is like Legendia, much different than the other Tales games in respect to their battle system during their time and age. *Shrug*
Whatever. Still worth a try.

Anyway, I have yet to play this game (my brother will be coming back from Japan with a PS2 with a copy of every Tales game for it) but I subscribed to Kevassa's boss battles and boy do they look fun! I can't see why it never came to the US (as well as Destiny remake).

I really just think it's because it was never localized, and not every Tales fan joins forums and gets info so they know if its existence. XD

You know why this game was overlooked?
It's hard, and people don't like strategy sometimes.
It's a shame, but at the same time? Rebirth is -easily- the most strategic of all the tales games. The Three-Line Battle System forces you to think about your movements and formation. The unique setup for your attacks means that, without having to worry about TP, you have to think before you use your eres force. The force cube is an added level of strategy and customization. And upgrading your equipment? While not necessary, it is a very useful feature.
Veigue is one of the better protagonists (The beach scene is moving), and the party is all likable. Overall, it is an excellent game, and this is why I pretend to be Veigue in the group chats, because, although Tytree is a silly, and although it jokes around with itself a lot, in the end it is still moving, and in the end, Huma and Gajuma can coexist in peace.
...The real reason it's overlooked is because no one has ever heard about it. It's not a sequel and it wasn't localized. The characters also weren't in Narikiri Dungeon.
