I made a set. Sig/avatar. For the month of October, I'm using these. I won't change the name of topic or anything, though. The Kyle sig I made is now up for grabs.

Well, it's been a while since I posted here. I really don't have much to update with, though. I did do some graphics, but mostly for my old forum that I was planning on reviving. It's Cless! This is pretty much the last signature I made, and it was made over a month ago. Haven't had much of an urge to make more lately. I did do some drawings in GIMP. Most of them or just doodles, though (I apologize in advance for some...) Like this. And this. This, too. Also, this.Plus, this.Eventually gave up GIMP due to it freezing on me for no raisinreason (I've had bigger things with more layers that didn't freeze like that...) I downloaded Paint.NET yesterday and I'm not really liking it as much as GIMP... Though I haven't tried out much of it, yet. If anyone is familiar with it, please help me with it. From here on out, most posts will probably be sprite/drawing related until I find out how to use Paint.NET better. I pretty much downloaded it so I can layer sprites for consistency... but yeah that's pretty much it.

Wow. Didn't expect this much feedback. Claude's appearance could actually be homage to Tales of Phantasia if you think about it. I recall hearing that Tri-ace was on staff for the game before becoming a company of their own. plus they both sound weird in English (ToP GBA, Starocean: Second Story (Haven't tried the PSP port to see if they changed the voice acting...)) TEAR INTO PIECES!! TEAR INTO PIE- TEAR INTO PIECES!!
...
UNEXPECTEDLY WEAK!!@ Cleo: I used more than one brush (from different sets) along with some smudge brushes for it. The general BG that I think you're referring to came from a Fractal Brush set... It was kind of weird to use them since I could have just simply generated one without the use of a brush... If you need more brushes, I added the ones I downloaded to my favorites on dA. Most of them link back to the original Photoshop brushes as well. @ tempest_rain: Thanks! I hope that I can make more one day. @ Bewzew: Aww yeah! here's hoping for namco vs. tri-ace so we can see cless vs claude @ Kindo: Thank you very much! I really, really appreciate it. Thank you all for looking at my stuff! It really helps motivate me to do more when I know people look at my stuff. I just uploaded something to dA. I pretty much just tried out some things on Paint.NET. I am somewhat disappointed with the lack of blur/smudge tools. I had to improvise. I like the turnout for the most part, though. I didn't take the time to clean it up like I should have...

Rather than make a new thread, I'll just bump this one. I've been working with FL Studio for over a year now. I've made plenty of songs since then. Pretty much all original stuff. Here's my youtube channel where you can find pretty much everything. Well, everything except the remix of Second Phase, my second "project." Beginnings is the first project I did. Originally there were only a handful of songs out of 20 done, but over time I filled in the gaps and even put out some remixes. Astray is a side project which served only as a song dump for everything that didn't go in Beginnings or Second Phase. Second Phase is the second project I did, which was actually much more linear than Beginnings. It didn't really fit what I had originally planned for it, which is why Second Phase ~Despair~ exists. That's the remix of this, which is available only as a download release (it should be in the playlist somewhere.) Quickbeats is something I started back in May to experiment with things. I used to upload it straight to my site, but... I ran out of space. I uploaded it all to youtube yesterday, so now everything is pretty much there. I'll likely post some new stuff here every now and then. Thanks if you decide to give this stuff a listen.

Really great stuff, Miguel. My favorite would have to be the Second Phase collection. I like the use of suspended 4th chords in the first song and the bass that alternates two notes within a half step. (I'm a bass geek, so any bass can make or break a song for me.) I also make some stuff on FL Studio. Although I'm currently on hiatus from all composing, you can check me out here.

Thanks for the feedback, man! I really liked what you did in your songs, too! You should make some more. Really. Introducing... a work of art made in GIMP! pffft work of artI've started a new side-project, called Escape. For now, I've been experimenting to the mixer and it has opened a new world for me. In the process, I've learned a lot about the program. This has furthered my grasp of FL Studio. This is good news. Unfortunately, not all of the results of this have been positive, but hey. A few bumps in the road of progress. Now, for the music: First up is a song I call " Impression". It's actually my first attempt with the mixer to make a full-length song. Because of that, there were all sorts of things I wanted to do with this. Things didn't really pan out as I couldn't make them work in practice. Then I hit further snags and it halted progress, forcing me to go work on the next song(s). Before I finished the next song I'll get to, I went back and "finished" this one up. When I hit the aforementioned bump in the road, I started on something else. This song is called " Starlight." Just like with Impressions, there was a lot I wanted to do with this song. "OH MAN, THIS SOUNDS GOOD. I'LL DO THIS... OH, I LIKE WHAT I DID WITH THIS INSTRUMENT. I'LL ADD THAT... OH GOD IT DOESN'T FIT. I DON'T LIKE THIS ANYMORE." Frustration set in... and in the end, I settled on dividing the song in two. After that, I wrapped this song up and called it a day. The resulting new song from the split is called " Overcast." I wasn't very happy with this song at first, but I went back and tweaked it in a similar fashion of what I did with Stray Beats and it flowed a lot better. Still not that great, but I like it.I hope you do, too. Last but not least, the song I finished an hour ago: " Sunset." Another pleasing result in my opinion. I tested out some new pads I downloaded from a site a friend linked me to. There was another planned song, but it proved to be impossible. The "Atmosphere" Sytrus instrument once again proves to be impossible to work with. That is all for now.
