If you could go back to any time, any place, where would you go?
I'd go to...
mid-18th to mid-19th century, either to England or the US. I love the writing style, the religiosity (even though I'm not religious), the morality, the thinkers of that time (Jean-Marc Gaspard Itard? Let's get married, right the hell now), and the relative mystery of the world. Also, no technology. I kinda dig that. Back when everything was still pretty and it took 6 months to get across the United States and you might be scalped by an Indian. Good times.
1890s-1910 in the United States. I like the concept of immigration.
1940s-1950s, in the United States. The unity of the country during World War 2 is both highly enviable and fascinating. Not to mention the morals of the 40s and 50s were nicer. 60s is kinda where society went down the sh*tter.
The Middle Age in Europe was pretty cool but I'm also about 90% certain it sucked to live back then. I mean, 1/3 of the European population dying? Not really my thing.

I'd go to the future. . . to play new tales games, or at least get a translator device so I can play Japanese tales games when I get back!
Or how about that day in the past during the moon landing?
Or farther back in imperial China or Japan?

No idea. I guess possibly into a part of the past where fighting would be good enough to carve out a living. It's certainly easier than my studies.
Then again, I guess that in theory, time travel into the future would be impossible anyway, since the future is influenced by events as they happen, you could not move time forwards, but you could in theory remove yourself from time for a certain period, then reappear in your desired period. =/

Go back in time 8 years ago to punch my past self and tell me what happened in the future, so that the root of all my problems will be replaced with... a different set of problems as a consequence of my actions at altering the past But otherwise, I'd just go back and tell my child self what to do in the future, in order to avoid the mishaps that befell my young self.

I would go back into the past and kill my child self in order to create a time paradox and destroy the universe.

I'd go back to the 1930's during the depression wherever and just explore, to see how people dealt with things and such.
Ancient times in Rome and Egypt would be so cool to go to, I'd just hang out and see how they built the pyramids.
Dinosaur time! For only a few minutes to see how they died and what they really looked like. Then get the hell out of there.
Probably 1940-50s and the 70's too, too see the war and what it did to people and how carefree and dangerous the 70's were.
Maybe I'd visit my childhood and help myself with a few things, but not many.
Also, go back in time some place, open an account at a bank, keep collecting interest so when I get back I'd be a billionare!

I used to think about this kind of thing a lot. I wanted to go back to the past and fix all of the mistakes I made in the past to hopefully lead me into a brighter future. Unfortunately, I know it's impossible and haven't really given it much thought in quite a while.
With that aside, if I could do it now with my mindset, I'd like to go back and observe my behavior as a child. I have a few unanswered questions regarding my life as a child, and it would be nice to see what happened "from the outside perspective." I can only rely on my not-very-reliable memory and stories from others, so I would have liked to have seen my growth from another point of view.
Kind of weird, I guess.
