What IS the difference between the Asia and Japan version? I've always gotten the Japan versions when I get stuff from Play-Asia. But anyways, I already have the Japanese version... but if there is a US Release, I'm definitely getting it. I mean, I could technically understand the plot with my mediocre default Japanese from listening... AND I could look up crap to get every detail... but that's just too much effort for the time I have to play the game. US version would let me understand everything... plus I want to compare the voices and see if it's good like Vesperia's dub. XD

Asian versions sometimes have very minor issues- sometimes they stutter a little bit, loading times are often a bit longer. And they typically have English control instructions in the manual.

Yeah, it's rare but when there are, it's a minor compromise especially with the obvious price gap. I personally have the Asian version and thankfully, found no such problems.

What was wrong with it?
I heard from numerous people Graces wasn't that great, so it's surprising to hear you guys say that. (Not that I was expecting Xillia to be amazing or anything; I know nothing about it.)

Lol, I haven't even been playing either one of them... @joey, It's a good game, just its really short (I can't say much, cause I have yet to finish the full game.)

(Not that I was expecting Xillia to be amazing or anything; I know nothing about it.) Well, the story is clearly rushed for one thing. Jude is probably the worst leading male character in Tales to date. He really didn't do much and felt more like a minor rather than a leader. (Milla is clearly the "hero" character). His feelings/obsession for Milla came too fast too, as there wasn't much of a build-up leading up to it. Maybe my major disappointed is in Jude and that he might of been the one who dragged the franchise down, I don't know... Although, I am not the only one who felt Xillia was lacking. Once the hype dies down, it seems more like some people leans more towards Xillia being an "eh" game. Then again, its either a love it or hate it. I do not hate Xillia. I think its an alright (good) game (to an extent), but the game overall is not really all that memorable. But the female cast was the best. Rowen was cool. Alvin was way better than Jude...Graces, even though the characters archetype was cliche, it had better character development and smoother transition in the plot, IMO.

I like how, now that Xillia is out, people like Graces.
But when Graces came out, people said it was an "eh" game.
I think what it comes down to is that Tales, as a franchise, is lacking.
but that's just, like, my opinion, man

Well if an English version is released someday, or a translation patch is made available, Id definitely be interested in buying one. I am not usually obsessed with video gaming characters, male or female, as they are after all fictional and do not mean much irl. Milla is one exception, shes amazing.
Tales as a franchise is indeed lacking something. They are producing games at a comparable or even faster rate than Square's FF, but apparently Square has a lot more budget to make better games. I do, however, understand the motives from Namco since they'd end up losing more if they had placed all hopes into a game they developed for five years but it turned out to be a failure in sales.

For me, it's the maturity level, which has become steadily more and more apparent to me the older I've gotten. That's why even though I started out liking almost all of the games, Abyss is really the only one that I still really enjoy because it actually tackled its subject matter relatively maturely. The rest are too... what's the word... feel-good and juvenile in feeling, I guess.

So I finished the game half a month ago? ...I think. Yeah, the game was good, just really not the greatest, it was like KoR + Original Symphonia + A Bit of Vesperia sort of thing game. Only Abyss and Symphonia and Vesperia were the greatest, but thats just my opinion. It had the ending of Abyss, Where Mira joins with Maxwell again, but she can't be with Jude and the others, and she promises that she'll be back someday, and when you're in Il Fan (in the animation), she just kinda makes some wind and Jude feels that she's out there, somewhere. Pffft, wait till they make Tales of Xillia Number 2. Though, it did made me cry. I do support Mira x Jude. Yes, I did just say Mira tops Jude, btw.
