In spite all of the salt I poured on Omega's stream, the game doesn't appear all that bad. I will be picking it up when it comes to the West, so I can at least give it a fair shot. Thanks to Miraclechao, I at least know that my experience in multiplayer will be somewhat decent.

From the 36 hours I've played, I developed a love and hate relationship with this game. It does a lot good but it does a lot bad, what threw me off was how limited the Seraphs were in artes, because there A artes are physical but there X artes are all spells meaning all Seraphs fall under the same amount of attacks and make it slightly harder to apply weaknesses. Though my main gripe is how the fusion/Kamui gimmick was added, you almost have no reason to stay out of it for some bosses on first playthrough because some monsters have absurd stats.

Hmm... I'm playing this on and off. While at first the game felt a bit limited, I got into it after a few hours and really enjoyed it when I got into the flow of things.
However, I'm now at some Fire Temple thingy and the gameplay feels really clunky. I feel like Sorey is doing hardly any damage, making normal encounters feel much longer than they should and ultimately there is very little variation in Sorey's attacks or then I'm just button mashing when going into Kamui with Mikleo.
Also, the CC gauge (or whatever it was) goes down really quickly and recharges really slowly and makes the game a bit too slow to my taste. Not only that, I'm getting killed really easily. I guess I just suck at this game and I don't know how to set up my characters. For example, I really haven't grasped the synthesis system or the purpose of equipment abilities.
My AI players are getting killed really easily all the time forcing me to stay in the background to wait for the other Seraphs to revive. Even though there was a new update of the game last week, it still seems the battle camera is terrible.
I'm just kind of disappointed because I was really looking forward to the game and I'm not playing it as religiously as I have previous titles that I've imported (Vesperia PS3, Symphonia, Xillia 2, Phantasia, Rebirth, Hearts DS) which I was completely addicted to because their battle system kept me playing despite being a bit lost with the story. Now I'm playing more of Hearts R which I find excellent because it just feels like a traditional entry into the series and really fast paced, and keep reminded and a bit sad why Zestiria isn't that good.
I'll probably get into the game later this week. Any tips on the game are welcome.
As I'm getting older, I feel like they should do away with RNG stuff in RPGs completely. Equipment/item grinding is so tedious, boring and time consuming it really makes most of these games unappealing.

Indeed, when I had nothing to do for 24 hours everyday I wouldn't mind a good grind session, but as I get older and realize my time has to be divided up between multiple things RPGs are becoming more of a genre I just can't get into anymore.

Ugh... I'm really having a lot of difficulty with this game to the point that I find it frustrating and overall unenjoyable. I've never had such an experience with Tales game, ever.
I simply have no idea how to make the battles smooth and streamlined as I usually feel these games are. I'm at the Fire Temple (entrance from Godojin) and the enemies are extremely difficult. I hardly inflict any meaningful damage, and the enemies are very powerful and constantly KO my characters. I've had three Game Overs already and I can sense another one coming shortly. I'm convinced that I have no idea how the system works in this game but it's not so welcoming that it's so unintuitive and cumbersome to get into. It's as if I get no experience to level up (at level 23 now), and even when you do level up it doesn't seem to make a difference. The equipment is extremely underpowered and I have no interest to farm new equipment based on what Normin I pick (not that I know how these Normin work, anyhow).
Also, why doesn't SC reset after the battle is over? Why do I have to recharge it at the beginning of the battle? This game really has too many flaws to keep the battles fun, fast paced and, well, easy. I mean, I'm not looking for a walk in the park but the normal enemies are giving me a hard time and normal battles are taking WAY too long.
Any tips on what I'm getting wrong?`
OK, the enemies are 10 levels higher than I am at this dungeon, what?

It depletes over time as a pseudo "fatigue" system ala Fire Emblem 5. Outside of that, the game is really all about the fusion. Even with proper equips you'd probably run into the same issues, but levels don't matter much unfortunately. One of the reasons I feel it's a poorly implemented game on many fronts. (Main reason why I and many friends have it collecting dust)

I saw some of clip's recent combo vids, so my interest in the battle system has renewed a bit. I'm still gonna sit on this one until we know the score regarding a rerelease/f version/etc.

I'm still gonna sit on this one until we know the score regarding a rerelease/f version/etc. I feel like all there is at this point is waiting. The importers have had the game for over a month, and there isn't anything to look forward to aside from the eventual western release (of which we've heard nothing for some time). Normally that's fine, but with this release people still have several questions: Will there be more DLC? Will there be a PS4 version? PC version? When is the western release? Will there be an enhanced version? Will the west get the enhanced version? What's going to happen next in the series? There's no concrete thing to get excited about in a positive or negative way. I can't think of many other JRPGs where an [enhanced] port is so expected after the launch of a new game. It's weird how rare it is to find a Zestiria discussion that doesn't bring up the possibility of an [enhanced] port. Please don't take this as criticism, as it's not meant to be. It's more an observation, neither positive nor negative. Maybe this always happens when a new game launches and I wouldn't know since I've never really been involved in the community. If so I apologize for stating the obvious and expected.

People still have several questions: Will there be more DLC? I'm sure there'll be more, but they'll likely be only costumes. Will there be a PS4 version? Pretty sure that Baba-san said "no" to a PS4 port. PC version? There are rumors that a PC version is coming. Who knows... When is the western release? July/August some time Will there be an enhanced version? You mean like Tales of Zestiria f? I highly doubt it. Enhanced versions usually happen to the games that are released on non-Sony platforms, with the enhanced version released for Sony platforms. Will the west get the enhanced version? There is no enhanced version... What's going to happen next in the series? What does this mean...? You mean what the next 'Tales of' game will be about? Lol, you are asking this question 3 years too early.

I said in the very next sentence, "There's no concrete thing to get excited about in a positive or negative way.". Concrete. Nothing you have said is concrete. The closest is Baba saying "no" to a PS4 port, but Baba hasn't exactly proven himself a trustworthy source regarding Zestiria. The last question can be taken in many different ways, as there are so many questions that can be asked. Personally I want to know if the reaction to Zestiria will change anything, or will they keep doing things as usual? Maybe we won't see until 3 years when the next game comes out. Maybe not. Like I said, there is nothing concrete at the moment.

Personally I want to know if the reaction to Zestiria will change anything, or will they keep doing things as usual? It seems like the tales team mostly just makes the games the way they want to. Feedback doesn't really strike me as an important part of the development process here. Maybe the extremity of the reaction in this case might register on the radar for them this time, but personally I doubt it. Not that that's necessarily bad or good, just how they choose to go about it.

Yeah, of course, nothing is concrete at the moment. For that reason, I wouldn't hold my hopes up for anything. Yeah, I sort of feel the team just does what they want. I mean, they made this game similar to Uncharted in a few ways, which just does not fit at all! I haven't played Zestiria in a month, and I don't plan to play it any time soon... but that's because I completed the game

First impressions? The cast itself doesn't excite me(perhaps only two people?) and I have no opinion on the mechanics as of yet. Anyways, I'll still buy it when or if it comes over here to North America. 'Gotta support it!
