Was curious, anyone else feel that the story really dropped the ball on this entry? I liked how Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift had stories for each individual characters, but with the odd 'Six Heroes,' 'Chrono Phantasma,' 'Sector Seven' arc thing it felt really stilted in character distribution. Add in the new characters like Amane, Bullet, and Azreal not doing anything noteworthy and I feel a bit cheated.
On the other hand, I feel the combat itself has improved tremendously. Any thoughts?

After being introduced to Arc System Works with Persona 4 Arena and seeing my friends play this game, I felt compelled to finally dive into the series with this game. I think it's really good. I ended up skipping through most of the story and don't know the story of the previous games in the series. I should go through it again at some point.
As far as characters I play, I use Tager almost exclusively. I always seem to be attracted to the grappler character in most fighting games.

CP is probably my favorite of all the installments. I never really paid any attention to BB story, so I'm speaking from a gameplay perspective. I used to play competitively, and CP was definitely one of the most balanced BB games (even after 1.0 Kokonoe lol) ODs added a new level of style and meta to the game which doesn't hurt. also, CP:EX came out recently, I've played it a little bit, and it seems to have improved a lot from CP.
I play Jin, I just wish they would make my character CS2 good again :(

I followed Blazblue from the first installment and loved it for the gameplay (Minus Nu in CT :/) and eventually I decided to take a close look at the plot. What I found was that the series seemed to have a very interesting time loop system going, and I was quickly engrossed in the whole 'Every character is off doing there own things' aspect. The story mode of Continuum Shift was a really enjoyable experience for me. Each character with there own Story and Arcade mode? It was a dream come true.
And then CP happened. I don't really understand what ASW was thinking, but reducing the story mode to three arcs (In which there are only 43 fights total with 13 of them being Ragna) with loads and loads of dialogue was a bad choice. Due to this, characters are either scrapped from the plot entirely (Taokaka, who I believe only shows up for a single sequence near the start and doesn't get a single battle) or are completely meaningless in the story (Tager has little to no impact, and even Hazama doesn't cause any havoc). There's also the lack of importance for many of the new characters, with Bullet and Amane vanishing to somewhere partway through, and the interesting new antagonist Azrael getting removed from reality. Kagura seems interesting, although some have had grievances in that he appears to be a "better" version of Ragna. I won't go into my issues with Celica, due to them being fairly inflammatory.
On gameplay though, I love what ASW has brought to the table. I haven't tried EX yet, but I will fairly soon.

And here im still just trying to get the hang of Litchi, my hands hurt.
Eh, I may pick up Celica and sub her next to Kagura. @coffee - I challenge you to some matches when I get CPEX.

UP you know I'm down to play whenever. Just lemme know. I probably won't play CPX much however, I don't really feel like learning my character again for the 5th time...
on a side note, Mori, creator of BB, is thinking of adding a 3v3 feature to the next BB lol.

3v3? That sounds plausible, if not a bit awkward. I don't think the cast lends itself to 3v3 very well, but Skullgirls managed it, so I'll refrain from judging.
