I was wondering if anyone with the game can look at the furigana for this arte for me? Sorey's voice sounds like he's saying "Jugoboujin" (じゅごぼうじん) and a lot of the sites online go with that, but the Perfect Guide furigana'd it as "Jugohoujin" (じゅごほうじん). I'm wondering now if it's a typo or something, so an in-game confirmation would be very helpful.

Jugohoujin 呪護暴陣

暴 cannot be read as "hou" to my knowledge. And he clearly says "Jugoboujin" in the game. Looks to me like the guide forgot the dakuten over the ほ, which is a very easy typo to make on a Japanese keyboard.

I agree with the "Jugoboujin" pronunciation, which is why I wanted a confirmation from the in-game text. Mispronunciations do happen as well, and wiktionary lists "hou" as a possible pronunciation. I was going to let the in-game furigana be the deciding factor for what the romanization should be, mainly for impartiality.

wiktionary lists "hou" as a possible pronunciation. Wiktionary isn't the best source; check other dictionaries. Jisho, Tangorin, and my Casio Ex-Word only list "bou."

Eh, I'll concede that then.

I don't know why they use 陣 on the end of some arte names. Looking it up returns encampment or battle formation. Is there something I'm missing? It doesn't really sound like the name of an attack.
Artes do have some pretty wild names though.

Artes do have some pretty wild names though. In this context, I think it means something more like "battle stance," so it's some type of position that maximizes the power in the body (common in martial arts).
