Not sure if this will be spoilers, but I thought I should put that in the title just in case. I didn't care for Zestiria as much as other tales games so I put it off for a while. Then I got Berseria and really liked it. As I am playing through it I am noticing ties to Zestiria. My question do I need to of finish Tales of Zestiria to get the full enjoyment of Tales of Berseria? I think I am very close to the end of Zestiria, but I think I am under leveled so I will have to do a lot of grinding. Thank you for your time.

Realistically you do not need to have even touched Zestiria to enjoy Berseria. Berseria stands on its own as a complete product. However, in order to fully appreciate what they were going for, it helps to play Zestiria, though not necessarily to completion. You didn't list any point of reference, but I'd wager that as long as you've played half of Zestiria, you've played enough. Basically when people start calling Velvet The Lord of Calamity did you go, "oh, I see what's going on", or did you go, "that's a really stupid name". If it's the former (or both), you're good to go. There is one aspect at the end of Zestiria that Berseria sets up, but frankly you could read it online for all that it really matters. Jesus, spoiler tags make formatting a nightmare...
