As the title suggests it's essentially an encyclopedia for the four games that Marth (five if you count Smash Bros) was in: Dark Dragon and Sword of Light, Mystery of the Emblem, Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem. It has so much content like information on the world, character profiles, support conversations and the scripts for Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem. As you said, it's great for Japanese reading. It's much more interesting than reading Japanese newspaper articles, that's for sure.
Surprisingly it was $40. For an import, I'd say that's a nice deal compared to what it usually is. I'm going to go for the Fire Emblem Awakening Knight of Iris book next.

I wanted to preorder Xillia online about a month ago and get the limited edition, but ended up spending most of what I was earning for things me and my folks needed. Fortunately managed to snag it anyway, and I'm stoked; I don't normally get special/limited/whatever editions of anything, so it feels pretty good. I also bought the Ah! My Goddess 20th Anniversary Artbook quite a while ago, and with that am proud to say I have pretty much completed my Fujishima artbook collection (there are still some other books that feature his work, but the Anniversary book was the last most important thing I wanted). Hopefully I'll be able to pick up the Character Illustration book for Xillia either at AWA (convention) this year, or just order it.

Kosuke Fujishima's art is just gorgeous. Inomata's art is really nice, but yeah, no, sorry, I'd take Fujishima any day over hers. That watercolor and soft style is <3.

Bought a few games recently, most notable of which being some new Tales titles for my collection. Tales of Destiny: Directors Cut, Tales of Destiny 2 (The actual Destiny sequel), and Tales of Xillia.

Congrats! Now you can be initiated into the Pokemon cult. I remember my first Pokemon experience quite fondly... Christmas 1998, tried out my cousin's Pokemon Red game at my grandma's house and only just managed to get Charmander before my family had to head for home... IT WAS LIKE HEROIN. HOOKED FOR LIFE.
If you have regrets about starters, you can always get a newly bred one from someone else. I have a female Delphox, for what it's worth.

That's good to hear. I'm deciding to go with Charmander (Purely because of Charizard Y) and then Froakie, I'm not one for grass types. I'll be starting my Pokemon journey next week when my final exam is done. I can't wait to play it!

In my opinion, grass types in Pokemon usually aren't worth anything anyway. I tried using Meganium in a Silver playthrough once, and it was so bad, I ended up boxing it.
Breloom is a real jerk in competitive play, though.

The infamous Xbox One. My brother pre-ordered it and picked it up yesterday at around 3pm. Surprisingly he was the first one to pick his pre-order up. Apparently there were around 50 pre-orders for the Xbox One and around 500 for the PS4 at the shop he went to. That's a really huge difference. Anyways, the console itself is pretty cool. The voice command is a fun novelty that me and my brother had quite a bit of fun with. I'd also like to point out that the Kinect has a red light when you turn it on and it stays on. Kinda creepy.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party: Island Tour.
I don't know why I bought them on release. I still haven't written a single word of my Roman history paper that's due Monday. I guess maybe I'm a subconscious masochist or something.

Wow, that's interesting. In my opinion, I would have pre-ordered the One instead of PS4 because right now, the PS4 games kinda....suck. And I really wanted Dead Rising 3. ): Even then, I will still try to save up for a WiiU as a family thing, I really like it. And anyway, Bayonetta 2, and that's the bae I have to get her!

As you said, it's great for Japanese reading. It's much more interesting than reading Japanese newspaper articles, that's for sure. What's your reading level like these days? I have to say, I've really slacked on studying since I effectively dropped out of uni- I need to get back into it.

@hiro I don't actually study it unfortunately. I tend to assist my friend who takes Japanese at uni and the poor guy has to read articles quite a few times. I don't consider myself to be that good at reading considering the only things I read in Japanese are raw mangas (I've been reading Drag-On Dragoon Shi ni Itaru Aka raw lately) and those game art books/ultimanias. @hikarihana Yeah my brother said the same thing about the Xbox One. As for me, nothing currently released on next-gen consoles interest me. I'm just waiting for stuff like X, Bayo 2, Guilty Gear Xrd, Deep Down and D4 (Dark Dreams Don't Die) EDIT: Muahaha! I finally got my hands on this game! So very hype.
