All I can say is that Nintendo is definitely taking a page from Apple's business guide. Release a new model of their popular device every year and the hipsters will have to buy it again so they have the "latest and greatest".
Well, I haven't bought a DSi myself but I can see Nintendo's using Apple's business guide there. Though I haven't found any reason to get a DSi (heck, I still have my bulky Silver DS from 2004).
I'm not placing bets on how they'll "upgrade" their DSi next.

I don't have a DSi yet... but the announcement of that thing means I won't be completing all the DS now... (I won't buy a small and a fat DSi just to complete the set...) Though I do plan on buying the fat... someday

WHAT ZE FLOOF?! AND THE POINT IS?
-_- unless this does something spectacularly better than the DSi, what's the point. Hmm, I might get one only if: -GBA compatability again -N64 Shop downloads -More Multimedia ability -2 DS Slots (they actually had 2 on the prototype) -Price under $150 -Built in ability to capture gameplay -Hard drive -DS game downloads -Higher res camera with ability to capture video
Thats a very tall order. . .

I think the DSi is okay (I use it to listen to music), but the XL is pushing it a bit, its not even that much larger. If it was laptop sized, then that would be something, but now its just too big to stuff in your pocket. Heres a picture from a better angle. Sadly, it appears to be nothing more than a DSi on physical steroids Attachments:

i would only get the dsi if they put region free back on it x:
i mean, because everything the dsi does (except for camera which i have no purpose for) i can just do it on my psp x:

PicupI think the DSi is region free, but only for cartridge games. My friend plays Jump ultimate stars all the time on his DSi

only for games that were out before the DSi. Games that utilize the DSi feature (ie. downloading from the shop or w.e something weird like that) are region locked.
