Not especially, just get the Asia version, you can still access the site, DL the items, Mercenaries, Ex attack data and upload. There's nothing to really lose that's worth worrying about.

I remember asking a similar question a while back, and I actually have another
Will all of the in game text be in Chinese? Or will it still be in Japanese? And, will a Asia version be able to link to a Japanese version
Lol, I still haven't got it yet. I was about to, and then the holiday season struck. . .

Japanese. Most of it is in Katakana. I'm actually left wondering how many words they use are actually Japanese. I know there's one charater who LOVES to speak in Ingrish. He's so coool.
Prof. Kahn. <3 You can get through the game easily in Japanese.(Well, not easily, it's the hardest Tales game yet, IMHO, just try the ex dungeon and dare to disagree with me. Dhaos is ridiculous.) But if you played the first RM, nothing should be much of a surprise to you. The one shop you do access is updated as you play, the grade shop is readily available, the colloseum provides steady challenges, and the mission types are styled differently in the briefing layouts, so you can generally guess what you'll be doing without actually reading the kana too.
