Moreover, Valkyrie Profile is a Square game. Slapping the Square name on anything RPG-related will jump the sales up a couple dozen thousand, period. Actually, VP is an Enix game. But I think Enix was doing pretty okay sales-wise before they merged with Square, even so. I don't think Square's name or Enix's name means anything...Valkyrie Profile is just simply great. there are some non-famous game makers whom created great games....Level 5 & Rogue Galaxy for example.

Great games don't particularly sell well, which was the point. Sales influence localization decisions.
Strange Journey was a fantastic game, but it didn't sell more than 100k.
