Do you prefer games with easy normal enemies with tough bosses, or tough normal enemies with easy bosses? I like the former better, as boss fights are one of the most entertaining part of an RPG, it is interesting to figure out unique strategies to defeat bosses. I dont like it when my characters are struggling with normal enemies encountered on the dungeons, they should be no more than providing means of leveling up.

Easy monsters and challenging monsters. Like you said, normal enemies should be there just to level you up. I agree with that wholeheartedly but I don't mind fighting a special monster in the normal enemy area once in a while. I do like my surprises. To me, bosses need to make you think while making the whole fight fun. Pandora's Tower is a good example...of what a good boss battle is.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Easiness in video games is the equivalent of sitting back like you're watching a movie. You don't have time to grab the popcorn when your life bar is in the red all the time.

Boss battles should be hard. So you can frustrate about it and then afterwards, you can be like, man, I suck or whatever comment. Idk about the monsters though.
