Or at least not as excited as I'd like...
While it's interesting to hear that there's "lots of tales games" in the works, I feel a bit skeptical. (This is considering I've really only played four of them...)
I mean, let's face it. It'll probably be a crapton of those random crossover games that never get translated out of Japanese. And frankly, I like playing my games in English, thanks.
And as neat as this new mothership title looks, it'll probably be yet another PS3 title that won't be translated into English. And sorry folks, but I'm not buying a system so that I can read a script off some fansite. I didn't do it for Vesperia either, and I loved that game to pieces.
I dunno, am I the only one feeling like a defeatist here?

I'm not excited, but that's due to my general lack of interest in the franchise.

Well, I'm not as big of a fan as I used to be. In fact, I can say the last time I ever felt very excited for a new Tales game was the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia (and I don't give a damn about the so-called complete PS3 version, since I wasn't excited for that one). Other Tales hasn't really excited me either.
Doesn't help that I replayed Tales of Legendia, realized how underwhelming it really was and swiftly went from an installment that was in the "eh" part of my list to my least favorite Tales game (yep, I rather replay Tales of the Tempest and Dawn of the New World than replay Tales of Legendia).
That being said, I still like the series but I'm not a religious follower nor part of a cult. I did not buy a PS3 for Tales games (I got one for the Uncharted games) and I haven't really imported a Tales game in a while and I wasn't really all that excited for Xillia. This is coming from someone that has a willingness to import and can put up with reading off a script if that's what it comes down to. I will also say that I do find Graces F to be "just good" and that's it.
For me, it's more of a case of "not really caring a lot". Maybe that's because I'm no longer worshipping it religiously or that it doesn't really have much to really get hyped up about, even if I am a willing importer. I'm just sitting back and observing and just taking what I would be interested in.

I'm not that big either on the new stuff. Only, maybe if it pertains to Graces or Hearts tho. But other than that, I don't really give a damn. My general lack of interest in Namco/Bandai or Tales. I'm more of, always, have been, for NIS and GUST more so anyhow.

Don't really know, I guess. Vesperia excited me for a while, but over time the series just started wallowing to me. Lack of localization for one, but I think my interests changed, realizing the time I liked Tales was the age group it was made for, and I did not follow under that age group anymore. I guess my vision cleared, I saw the series for what it was, and just moved on. As an example, my anime watching and manga reading has plummeted in the past few years.
It's more like I realized the series just isn't that good anymore, and with the recent game announcement, I'm realizing why.

Yeah, I think that's what happened to me, too. Low chances of localization was part of it, but for the most part, I just grew out of the series. I don't even really enjoy the Tales games I used to anymore; they just don't appeal to me any longer.
