Surprisingly, doesn't look like we have a pet thread. What animals have you had/currently have? I've never had any animals but cats. My family has had six over the course of my lifetime, and my former roommate had two in our apartment. Right now, my family only has one cat, Della. She's pretty fab. She's also pretty dumb, but it makes her more endearing. I don't like dogs nearly as much, but on the whole, they're pretty alright. Sometimes I think it'd be nice to have one for companionship because it can be a little lonely living alone sometimes. But on the other hand, because I live alone and stay out for the majority of the day at class or work, the dog would be alone most of the time. Cats do just fine hanging out by themselves, but I don't think that would be fair to a dog. One day, in an alternative universe in which skunks are not illegal to own as a pet in New York state, I would give owning a skunk some thought. They're supposed to make for excellent pets.

Gosh, that cat. The colors, the fluffy fur... I want to pet it.... I have a golden retriever. I haven't seen her much since college began, but she's friendly and fuzzy. I actually didn't have to use an alarm clock to get up most of last year because a doggy licking your face is a pretty surefire way to wake up

I have no pets where I live, but my dad has 6 cats.
I have no interest in owning a skunk, but I've always wondered what it would be like to have a pet fox.

I have no interest in owning a skunk, but I've always wondered what it would be like to have a pet fox. Apparently, they've been working on breeding them towards domesticity for a few decades now, and the foxes you can purchase now as pets are supposedly really great companions.
