Officially gave up on Steins;Gate and moved onto Soul Eater, which I had started four years ago or so and never finished. I wanted to start Gurren Lagann, but I can't find it on iTunes or Amazon for download

Log Horizon. First 5 episodes are great and the characters are more likable than SAO. Now let's just hope they can be consistent in their good quality and not drop instantly like SAO.

Samurai Champloo.
What have I been doing all of these years not to have watched this yet? Let's just say Netflix's free trial is making me want to binge on some anime I've never gotten the chance to watch. Well, maybe that last part was a lie--I could have watched it on Adult Swim back when I watched TV, but to be fair, I wasn't anywhere near 17 at the time. Anyway, good stuff, good stuff.

Just finished watching Welcome to the NHK not too long ago--a sobering yet satirical, black comedy.

I'm watching Android Kikaider, Gundam Build Fighters, and Kill la Kill right now. An unusually large amount of anime, considering I've watched roughly none in several years.
Kikaider is really good. The art's a bit wonky a lot of the time (people's faces tend to look diagonal or slanty... it's weird) because it tries, unsuccessfully, to recreate Ishinomori's style. On the other hand, it's largely faithful to Ishinomori's manga version of Kikaider (sad to say, but I'm not really familiar with the tokusatsu version), which was already really good. Anyways, all the art of Kikaider in combat mode and the monsters of the week is all good, and the fights are well-choreographed and animated.
Build Fighters is a bit thin, but it's fun to watch. Like a snack food. I certainly enjoy it more than most of the Gundam franchise. I'm really itching for the protags to get a new mech- I'm really not digging this whole Build Strike line, and the Star Build Strike has like eight dumb super attacks.
Kill la Kill is pretty cool. I like the energy put into experimenting with the animation, it's really exciting after Build Fighters is so paint-by-numbers. Ryuko's a pretty cool protag, too.

Managed to get my partner to watch Gundam Build Fighters with me!
It's gotten really fun since the first couple episodes, although the INTERNATIONAL TOY CONSPIRACY levels are rising way off the charts. I do like that there are regularly incidental characters who just stand around and are like "What's up with all these toys? Why is this so serious?"

Gundam 00.
I'm enjoying this way more than the first time I watched it. I suppose going in a little more open-minded helps.
Hoping the second season isn't too disappointing.

Patlabor OVA Patlabor TV series (Both on Hulu!)
I'm not into mecha anime at all, but Patlabor seems to be the exception now that I've checked it out!!
