Game boy: Got it as a present from my Dad when we were lieaving and after awhile it just sort of upgraded as the pokemon games came along Sega Genesis/SNES: Christmas presents for my mom....and we took them for ourselves Gamecube: My sister wanted it just for the sake of Wind Waker but in the end its okay. Thank god for Tales of Symphonia and Fire Emblem PS2: What I wanted instead of gamecube. For the sole purpose of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and all of the great games on it. YAY for .hack// and Tales of the Abyss Wii: Twilight Princess. Plus one EB Games had five left the week it came out and I wanted to own my own system so I got it before they sold out Xbox360: Though I don't have it, used to. I'd have gotten it for Halo and Tales of Vesperia. I used to go to HMV and drool at those for an hour. I still will get it, after Chirstmas I won't get the PS3 until somethign decent comes out for it...like localized Tales of Vesperia

Gamecube: Super Smash Brothers Melee. I played this game for years every day with my friends. Ps2: Tales of the Abyss Wii: Dawn of the New World Xbox 360: Tales of Vesperia
(Yeah, Im serious, if Wii, Ps2 and 360 wouldnt have their own Tales-Games I might have not bought them)
And if Vesperia gets localized I will have 3 reasons for a PS3 and mainly due to ToV´s awesomeness I wont be able to hold back (the other 2 are Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid 4)

MC = My Console, FC= Family Console, BC=Brother's console
GBA SP(MC) = My bro and I love pokemon(we emulated), his godmother bought him one and I wanted one too. I bought one with the money our grandmother gave us (we haven't met her in a while). My bro and I enjoyed playing pokemon together~ (his godmother also got us a link cable!). This was our first real console, ever.
PSX(FC) = Our sister's friend gave it to us. We only played digimon rumble arena here XD
NGC (BC) = When we were in L.A., we stayed in our aunt's place and we played Super Smash Brothers Melee. My brother liked it and asked his godmother if he can have one... and she gave him one, lucky guy XDD
NDS(MC) = I got it on my birthday after saving up for it for 5 months. I wanted to see what the touch screen was like and I also love Nintendo.
Wii(M+BC) = We were in HK that time and my bro and I decided to get one. We bought it with our shopping money and money we saved. We bought it because we were nintendo fans and my bro loves Zelda (and SSBB)
PS2(FC) = Our basically got it for DDR for my sister [Modded]
NDSL(MC) = the first EVER console that was given to me. Pokemon was out and my NDS was missing... I told my mom that she doesn't have to get me the game since my DS is missing, but she bought it anyway. After we bought the game, we went to the gaming store where we bought the PS2 and she bought me an NDSL <3 I really love her for that. Until now, I always use that DS.
Wii(MC) = I had the money at that time and I thought of buying a modded Wii for everyone to play. Me and My bro's Wii wasn't modded and he kinda hogged the system... XD. I bought this Wii for my own games and for casual games for my visiting friends/family and siblings' friends. This Wii is currently with a745. [Modded]
Xbox360(MC) = got this for Vesperia. Seriously. It was 2nd hand but still within my reach. I got it for Vepseria but I also played RE5, SO4 and Eternal Sonata. My sister plays NBA and Poker and her BF also plays some other games on it when they're crashing in my room. [Modded]
PS2 (M+BC) = My bro and I got this since the old one was SLOW and also MISSING. We got this for Resident Evil(Him+me) and Tales(ME). Only PS2 games we have(orig) are the RE Pack and Tales of Legendia.... I can't find Abyss anymore ;A;
PS3 (MC) = got it mainly for Vesperia. But I still got other games in mind like Little Big Planet, Disgaea 3 and others... unlike the Xbox360 w/c i got for Vesperia (I dunno any other games in it during that time). So far the only game I have here is Vesperia....
Aaaand that's it. I may be late in the gaming world, but that doesn't mean I won't catch up! XD

This thread has made me realize that I have far too many systems. I didn't even put every single one I have.

GBC: because, imagine, colours in my games!!!
NGC: the new nintendo system, seemed really cool
DS: by that time I was a complete nintendo fan
Wii: see above
PS2: Tales of the Abyss
PSP: like 5 Tales on it, it's the perfect opportunity
PS3: Tales of Vesperia, and the intuition that their next big remake might be on this one

Revive
Let's see...
N64 - Probably Super Mario 64, but I wasn't the one who actually picked the system out--my parents did.
GCN - Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Mario Sunshine.
GBA SP - The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Oddly enough, though, I didn't get the game until a year later.
PS2 - Wasn't even technically mine so nothing made me get it. I just played it.
DS Lite - Not technically mine, either. I didn't actually play that many DS games until I was done with my GBA.
PSP - Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Star Ocean: The First Departure. I still own only 3 games for this system, which kind of defeats the purpose of having bought it.
Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl. Waited like 2 years after it was out to buy it.

Let's see... N64 - Very first game system, my parents bought it for me, came along with Majora's Mask, Hey Pikachu, and Ocarina of Time. I was say...3 years old? (No, I'm not a spoiled brat! They just decided to buy it for me.)
Gamecube - I could say I was 5 at the time, when I started getting into Sonic, but I don't even remember the days I bought it, so only my mom could tell me. A few years later came and I bought ToS, best time of my life going into a Pawn Shop and buying that game.
DS - Only for Sonic Rush did I buy this, and Nintendogs. Man, it sucks how I lost those same games at Walmart at a telephone post. D:
360 - Until people released info about Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, it was a must for me, I was 7? (They did release it in August-September, right?) it was the only reason why I bought the game, afterwards I actually got into the Kameo, Laura Croft, Viva Piñata, and then I came renting Tales of Vesperia, eventually buying it.
PSP - I don't remember HOW I got it, I just had it. The first game was ToW: RM, loved it (but haven't finished it because of Widdershin D:< )
At this time period was when I became an official Tales fan, well, once I found out it was a series. Thanks to AC plus Symphonia's anime.
Wii - Sonic and the Secret Rings, is what got me into buying it. Afterwards, it was just for party gaming, and then there's when KoR came out. I liked it, and sticked to the Wii TILL-
This was around the time where I got more into RPGs.
Ps3 - I got this half a year ago (yes, I'm late.) I got Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Vesperia PS3 immedeatly (sp...). Then Star Ocean: The Last Resort, and Resident Evil 4 and 5 (Because of my awesome friend) and so on.
3DS - Tales of the Abyss, I loved it already enough, buuut once I figured out afterwards it was region locked, I was like SONAFA- and my original DS was sort of dying, so I traded it for 3DS.

Hm, haven't posted since I got a 3DS. I didn't really have any particular reason as to why I got a 3DS at launch, tbh, since there weren't any games out that I liked. I guess I got it because I liked the DS, and I never got any of the newer DS models. Went straight from phat DS to the 3DS. (God, what a world of difference in terms of size.)
My phat DS still works fine, though.

Funny. I didn't actually even know about Castlevania games until I had a GBA long enough. Eventually I started playing Aria of Sorrow and that got me into the series.

360: Gift from my brother (Such a nice brother). Unfortunately since I got my PS3 I barely touched my 360. The only reasons I play my 360 now is because of Virtual-On OT, Force, Trigger Heart and Mushihimesama Futari (That game makes me so...GRRR.)
PS3: It was region-free and I heard about all the Japanese exclusives for the system like the Tales games, Another Century's episode R,
DS: I got it because all my friends had one it was worth it because the multiplayer games on it are really fun like Mario kart (Pretty obvious) Dragon Quest IX, Zelda Phantom Hourglass etc.
PSP: RPGs. Before I had the PSP I thought all I needed (in terms of handheld) was the DS but as it turns out I was wrong. PSP had games like Tales of Phantasia X, The 3rd Birthday, Trails series. All the hardcore games I love.
Gamecube: This was actually the first console I got with my own money and it was worth it. I mainly used it for multiplayer games though. Wario Ware and Mario party 4. So many fond memories.
N64: My brother gave it to me because he doesn't use it anymore.
