I had been planning on getting Eternal Sonata at some point as well, so I was just getting that out of the way. I couldn't afford Vesperia anyway, I was expecting it to be expensive but not THAT expensive.
As for the ES supposedly being worse than Vesperia, I think their gameplay, at least what I've played of each so far, are too different to be compared. I did feel that the Vesperia demo's battles were slower than DotNW's, but it's nowhere near enough to not make me play it. It was just a small fault I noticed.
The graphics, uh, I actually think Eternal Sonata looks better than Vesperia. At least what I've played of each game so far. The environments in Eternal Sonata are really pretty, but they weren't really anything special in Vesperia. At least, that's what I thought.
And I don't really mind short games either, so...
I am still going to get Vesperia as soon as I can. But I'll have to find a cheaper copy first. (I looked around online and found new copies of Vesperia that were at least 9£ cheaper than in GAME. So I'll get it from somewhere else sometime.)

Vesperia's graphical appeal shines through more in it's design that presentation alone. Compared to most FPS though, (Like modern warfare 2 which only took a single sitting at a friends house) almost any RPG is quite long. XD Though to be fair, one of the main features of Tales games is length.

yeah......Tales of Vesperia isn't the longest Tales..
I took 57 hours for beating it while I took 80 hours for Tales of symphonia & 70 hours for Tales of Legendia & 75 hours for Tales of the Abyss.....

I took 100 hours to beat it, but that was mostly because I did a bunch of stuff at the end.
By the way, in terms of the speed of gameplay, I found that the demo may have been a bit slower than the actual game. The game just felt more fluid and polished.
