Hello party people, I'm here today to stick my nose where it doesn't belong and ask you what's your type? Who do you tend to fall for? To make it more relatable, I wanna see if there are any fictional characters that you can match your type with? Have no idea what I'm talking about? I'll explain everything. You see, I've asked this question before on another forum and so I'll just copy and paste it in here. (Sorry in advance if this is the wrong section for this kind of thread). Anyways... .are there any fictional characters (may they be from a book, movie, anime,manga/game...etc) that would be your "type"? Or if you don't have a type...or aint into those kinds of things, who would be your best friend? NOTE: this isn't a "who do you love kind of question" its honestly having your type and finding a character that fits it. Not the whole, "I'm legit in love with this character"...and also, know that choosing fictional characters will only exaggerate your type. They are not a true representation of your "type" nor your true interests in a person (unless they are..) . So, no judging! It's for fun!
And..I want to know why! I don't want some sassy "because"! Mhm, that aint happening. I want to know what is your favourite thing about that character; list good qualities but also their bad qualities. They must have bad qualities, no such thing as a perfect person unless you're Beyoncé, but she's not fictional.I also want to know why they're considered your type/ ideal type of person. What makes them that? Also, post a picture of them. I wanna see what kind of fictional character matches your "type"! AN EXAMPLE: TYPE: Hermione Granger from Harry Potter (and not Emma Watson (the actress)). Why? Because she's book smart and I tend to go for people who are like that. Good qualities:_________Bad qualities: __________ Pic: (Please put this in spoiler form). And finally, the moment you all have been waiting for- my "type". I'm into older guys (not like super old or anything..a couple of years..or something). I'm not into anyone that's exactly like me because they would get extremely annoying with all the mood swings and the amazing jokes. My type has to compliment me in traits- so, not the exact opposite, that y'know, we have nothing in common but......you guys get it.. I need a serious guy to make sure I don't do stupid things. I picked a character from Sengoku Basara: Katakura Kojuro. Pic: lmao look at those pixels. Good qualities: He's hella protective, and I like attention, so it's great. He gardens, and I have a garden, so ..that's..- I just don't wanna do things by myself OK?! Don't judge me! He's cool.....and..tall. I bet he can cook really well. Yes I know I asked these questions and I can't answer them properly. In all seriousness: I tend to be headstrong and hot headed sometimes but he has a good handle on those kinds of people, he seems like a person who I could get very comfortable with. Which, is something that can easily ease my anxiety and worries. His loyalty is admirable. I treasure TRUST. Bad qualities: He aint no Beyoncé, that's for sure. He probably would nag me to do things...and that's annoying. Stop acting like my mom, Kojuro. Stop yelling at me. Damn it. Being overly protective is a double edged sword. Perhaps he shouts too much. He'll burst a blood vessel or something. Anywho- I made this thread b/c I'm nosy and I want to know your types (with the fun mixing and matching of fictional characters!)

I usually lean toward a strong female lead, such an underrepresented trope in fiction. Ryougi Shiki/SHIKI (Kara no Kyoukai) - Very complex character, outwardly cold and taciturn, but having a caring side to those she's close to. I gravitate to her because the way in which she falls into the trope isn't typical. She possesses a personality of both male and female (not MPD/Schizo), each one able to manifest itself through her. So that causes her to exude qualities of either gender from time to time. On top of that, she's just a badass chick. Lightning Farron (FFXIII) - Similar character to Ryougi, except her placement into the trope is a bit more classic. What makes me like her is her development over the course of the XIII trilogy due to that unrelenting, hard-headed nature of her's. I'm strictly speaking power level-wise more so than personality development (I think her character development ended at XIII), but I won't say too much here for the sake of not spoiling for those who never played the XIII trilogy in its entirety. I also attribute this fondness for her due to the amount of time I spent as Lightning over the course of all the XIII games lol. but overall, I find much common ground in outwardly stoic characters. I just find the trope much more easier to appreciate with a female character since you don't see it as often, or done as well. Fun Fact: Lightning and Ryougi both share the same seiyuu (Maaya Sakamoto)

^Interesting choices! I can always appreciate a well thought of female character, or just a well written character in general.

The traits I appreciate the most are probably confidence in own decisions and the ability to take responsibility. They are more like traits I respect, but I've also found I just get along with people who can act independently and don't need a babysitter constantly.Stuff like rational thinking or sense of humor are not necessary, but are a huge plus. There are quite a few characters that fit this description since the traits are not included in the traditional tropes as default. Akane Tsunemori (Psycho Pass)I actually do not know how to express my thoughts properly, but I'll try: - Strong Female lead, something that indeed is very underused - The naive and kind personality that changes a bit during the show but never disappears completely. - Strong sense of justice accompanied by her rational and insightful thinking. The way she settles with the less-bad instead of trying to "fix" things in the most obvious way really impressed me. - Straightforward with her opinions but still manages to solve any possible ideological conflicts. - I like her design - Just all around interesting and complex charater. There are some bad traits which I'd not appreciate if I had to deal with her: - Way too stubborn. - Some humor wouldn't hurt. In general Psycho Pass was a serious show so I guess the seriousness was to be expected. Akane is pretty unusual protagonist in many ways. I like the little details you can see on the character development, like how she started smoking.

^An amazing pick! I love Akane to death! She's truly a good pick ahaha, women like that in real life will satisfy you in many ways! I can relate to the stubbornness, though. She's truly a great example of character development. Although, about the smoking bit... wasn't it stated that she wasn't in fact smoking, but taking in secondhand smoke? To keep the smell of the cigarette. It's kinda like a reminder of Kougami, no?

In season one she only did it as a reminder but in the second season she was smoking with the Kougami-wannabe (can't remember his name, the one who likes black). I could be wrong though. I'll have to check that at some point.
EDIT: Nope, can't find anything. I guess I made that up in my head. EDIT2: Yep found the scene I was talking about (Season 2 EP 7, after the opening). Apparently she wasn't smoking, she just had a cigarette in her hand for the smell or something. Honestly though, if I had to pick bunch of fictional characters I'd like to meet, Akane would be pretty high on the list. Mostly because I'd like to see what those eyes look like in real life.

She would be high up on my list as well (aside from my hubbybae Kojuro (op)), I would like to see a real life person pull off that hair too. If I had known her throughout the events taking place in the show, I would honestly see her (as I already do) as a role model.

I guess I'll throw my favorite in. I like people who I can work with and give advice. They have to also be capable of putting up with me and not run away from my bitter sarcasm. I tend to without really meaning to end up as support for others once they get past the opening bit. People with troubled family lives actually make up most of my offline friends. And well, Touhou Project was the first series that "spoke" to me for lack of better words and I ended up growing attached to Tenshi Hinanai(or Hinanawi, depends on the translator.). Story wise she's the daughter of a family that ascended to heaven through service to a god rather than through giving up worldly desires. As such, she lacks the temperance of other angels, and her family is looked down on as a result. This eventually leads to her fleeing home and ending up in Gensokyo(the main region of the series). She then becomes the "villain" of the game she's introduced in and surprisingly isn't forgiven for the incident she causes*. Good Qualities: She's fairly laid back and throughout the games and books has proven to be a fairly understanding individual. She willingly gives out advice, although most of it's pretty bad. She's willing to work for her keep, so that's a plus. Additionally, she proved to be strong enough to beat the rest of the cast in her story mode having held back during the rest because "the villain's supposed to lose." Bad Qualities: She's headstrong. Extremely so. She picked a fight with all of Gensokyo to make friends, and was very over the top with drawing people in(screwing with weather patterns and causing earthquakes). Additionally, she has a pretty bad reputation due to the incident. She's impulsive, and prone to mood swings. I feel like this may be a bit of a long winded post, but whatever. *This is odd as even the character attempting to set the entire surface world on fire wasn't even given a slap on the wrist...

I've never had any real problems with my endless stream of sarcasm and irony, but usually it takes a while for new people to realize I'm actually just joking. That's the reason I usually get along with people who have known me for couple of years. I've had to tone it down in the internet though. Text is not the best medium for that.

When chatting vocally with people I'm fairly bitter, so on the internet I follow the same rules I'd follow for a job interview. I keep my head up, have a cool head and refrain from getting into insult battles.

@lee Traxin, interesting choice! I've never had any real problems with my endless stream of sarcasm and irony, but usually it takes a while for new people to realize I'm actually just joking. I keep my head up, have a cool head and refrain from getting into insult battles. Really? I've become so sarcastic that people always assume that every word that comes out of my mouth is sarcasm. Even when I'm not, they think I am.
It's always hard trying to convey emotion online. People usually assume I'm sarcastic online too.
