Not saying I hate how Namco Bandai does things with Tales, this is just a curious question. Personally I'd pick Falcom. The soundtrack would be God-tier and from what I've played of Trails of Blue they would create a great story as well. Though this may be my fanboy-ism talking here...

Atlus.
I would be more interested in Tales if it took on a more mature approach. I liked Tales a lot when I was in high school, but nowadays I don't have nearly as much patience for the feel-good writing and moe characters. Atlus doesn't seem to shy away from tackling darker, more mature plots the way Namco does.

I'd say Atlus too, though I'd like it if they had Go Shiina composing instead of Shoji Meguro
As much as I love Meguro, I don't think his music would quite fit in a Tales game. Wouldn't feel right comboing and spamming artes while Mass Destruction is playing in the background, y'know?

Yeah, probably not. I'd take Shoji Meguro over Motoi Sakuraba any day, though, because I'd rather inappropriate music over annoying elevator music.

Rock music, pop music, operatic music, menacing chanting, you name it. You would never hear this in Persona. Or this. Meguro could -easily- do a Tales OST. Meguro could do any kind of OST you threw at him.

k, k, I eat my words. I've only played P3 and P4, so I only had that work as a frame of reference.

o: omfg, I've never had a taste of Atlus, so I can't say. So yes, that means I've missed out on Shin Megami and Persona, /failatlife OTL Though, from so very many people, I have to agree Atlus would do a great job.

Meguro's music alone would give the series a fresh new feel so I can't argue with Atlus. I'm really curious as to how Atlus would handle the battle system since (like Joey) I've only played the games in the Persona series. Although seeing as Catherine is a completely new game for them I'm sure they would have no problem with it.

Atlus,Falcom,Tri-Ace,maybe Konami I forgot about Tri-Ace....They're fripping Awesome, I love Eternal Sonata, and that other game...I forgot what it's called. @kindo, and I'm about to say a suprising thing. I would probably....JUST MAYBE....be okay with Square doing it for Tales, because if it'd be like Star Ocean: The Last (Something, don't remember...), then I would. It's just I would be very uncomfortable because the game models'd be...realistic. I don't really like characters looking realistic.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope? Well I heard something about Tri-Ace originating from Wolfteam (Developers of Tales of Phantasia) so I wouldn't be surprised if the game was not that different from Namco's style of developing.

Square-Enix of course, I dont think Falcom can do a much better job than Namco considering how they aint enthusiastic at localizing their Legend of Heroes and YS series either.

I don't think SE would want to localize Tales very often either if they got the same sales figures.

And SE disappointed so many people for not bringing KH3, which I feel their pain, and they just keep making remixes, or whatever. Yes, Ao-san! The Last Hope, that's the one.

Hey, well, as long as they can keep milking the series with pointless spin-offs, they're going to keep doing it because KH prints money. Can't exactly blame 'em, even if I think KH has gotten ridiculous.
