Anyone planning on getting it? Any specific games you're looking forward to?
I'm not really that interested in getting it. I never really used the Wii to begin with because the controls are gimmicky and the library is garbage. Besides, the older I get, the less I really want to play consoles anyway--I value portability more, especially since portable systems are so powerful now. If there are good multiplayer games on the WiiU, though, I'm sold. There aren't enough great multiplayer games on any console right now, really :(
I have heard it's really fun to use (it's available to play at the store HQ), and the tablet apparently isn't dumb and gimmicky like the Wii motion controls were. So, that's a plus.

Definitely importing the Wii U. Mainly because of Monster Hunter 3G HD ver. The launch titles may not be good but I'm sure there will be lots of good games to come in the future hence why I'm buying one.
Importing because of region locking. I don't want another Wii situation where a huge majority of the games I wanted were only in NA or Japan.

Maybe I'll get one in a few years after the price drop. To be honest, nothing announced for it so far has really grabbed my eye and hyped me to want to get it. Actually there's super smash bros, but that's supposed to also be for 3DS and be cross compatible so my concern in that region is considerably low.

I still haven't gotten a 3DS yet. That should say a lot.
In any case, I think the system is pretty nice, though. I like the idea of having a TV screen on the controller. That would make a lot of games that have some sort of menu screen (or map) easier to play. However, I don't know how the controller is going to feel in my hands, though.
I hope Nintendo does well on sales with this system. I've heard bad rumors of what would happen to the company if the WiiU were to fail.

In retrospect, I don't think the Gamecube was that bad off in terms of library. I got some pretty good use out of it in junior high.

I thought the gamecube had a pretty decent library, and back in the day I didn't even have a bunch of notable games like Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, or Pikmin

If I ever get a WiiU, it wont be any time soon. The only game for it that I have any real interest in is Dragon Quest X, and I may not even get it with it being an MMO, and that's assuming it makes it out of Japan.
To be honest, I haven't been interested in any of Nintendo's home consoles in a long time. They just never have enough (decent) games to make buying one worth it until years later when the price has dropped drastically.

In retrospect, I don't think the Gamecube was that bad off in terms of library. I got some pretty good use out of it in junior high. My gripe with the Gamecube is the controller. I'm trying to play KoF: The Orochi Saga on the Wii using the Gamecube controller, and my thumb feels like it's burning when executing HCB/HCB on the D-pad. (I know. I should be playing KoF with a stick, not a gamecube controller. But still, the D-pad on the controller is just awful.)

I don't remember ever having a problem with the Gamecube controller, but on the note of Nintendo console controllers...
how in the world did I ever manage to play the N64 for more than 30 minutes at a time as a kid? Going back and playing the N64 now, those things feel incredibly uncomfortable. They make my hands cramp.

I'll probably get a WiiU once all of the 'good' Nintendo games start to come out.

Well, I finally opened my Christmas gifts tonight (I missed the holiday this year), and I now own a WiiU.
Albeit with no games for it, other than the included Nintendoland thing :'D
Anyone have any suggestions for worthwhile purchases?
